The good or the bad?
This CD has both. I think that most of my favorite Evanescence songs are here (good) as well as a few on their more varied, less-liked sophomore effort. But at the same time, the riffs, while a bit heavier for a POP band, get repetitive by the 5th song (bad), leaving out the 4th completely because it has no heaviness whatsoever. I actually used to hate that about My Immortal (track 4) but considering that I just bought the import version "used" but brand new and still in plastic, I can appreciate it for I have what's NOT on the U.S. version - My Immortal the rockier version (band version)(the closer) (good!). So both being present is definitely a good thing!
But back to the album as a whole. It's good and bad. The lyrics barely vary (bad) and Amy seems to drown in her own pain song after song (bad). But the people that I think this album has mainly attracted in the past and will in the future are:
Down and out (emotionally/spiritually) Christian teens and pop-rock fans in general or the ones that are looking for something a tad heavier than usual. If you're just plain down and out then you may like them too. And if you like an occasional riff run, then you will find that here.
The people who LOVE to hate this are probably the people that constantly hear that Evanescence is the greatest rock or metal band EVER. I agree with them because this isn't metal at all (good). And to say that they are the best band, ... Read More

I like this cd. It's cool and I like their songs. I like all their other albums too. I have Evanescence EP to The Open Door. So I know what I am talking about. When I heard them on the radio the first time I knew I had to buy this album. Some people are probably wondering what the difference is from this one and the other fallen. Yes they are both official. But this on has a hidden song. It's another version of my immortal. I like it. So you should buy it. If you do you won't regret it.

Who would have expected a little band coming out of Little Rock, Arkansas to become such a mainstream success? Whether you know them from their Linkin Park-ish first hit "Bring Me To Life" or their mellow-dramatic crossover with "My Immortal," it's safe to say that Evanescence are one of the most recognizable and most overplayed band in recent memory. I'll be the first to admit that this album really doesn't sound as fresh now as it did in 2003, thanks in part to an open door where swarms of female fronted rock bands have emerged. Regardless, it's still a solid album worth revisiting from time to time (hence the re-review).
With their major label debut, co-founders Amy Lee and Ben Moody managed to etch out a sound all their own, fused with plenty of pop hooks and dramatic themes. A catchy hard-rock act with a more than capable female handling the vocals is kind of a hard thing to ignore. Opening with the dark, heavy and simple "Going Under," the soundscape is set for the rest of the album, as Lee fights with the band to be heard. If hard-rock ain't your thing, then songs like "My Immortal" and "Hello" beautifully show Amy's capabilities and range. "Everybody's Fool," the lesser-hit of the album, has always been a standout in my mind, as it is an excellent assault on teen-pop and shallow self-image, presented by the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. However, songs like "Haunted," "Tourniquet" and "Imaginary" are so over the top and dramatic that it gets ... Read More

Evanescence's Fallen is one of the best cds I have ever heard in my life. It's lyrics and rythm are so deep, they are the best band ever. Going Under, Bring Me To Life, Everybody's Fool and My Immortal are the best videos i've ever seen including Seether's Broken featuring Amy Lee. It defidently deserves 5 stars.
