Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: The 2003 debut of Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central marked a high point for the cable channel, and now the entire, wildly creative first season can be seen, with hundreds of bleeps removed. That's not to say Chappelle's Show is perfect entertainment: there are too many moments among the 12 episodes here that descend into pointless scatology and booty fever. But for the most part, Chappelle, a talented comic slowly growing into greatness, is trying to push the sketch-humor envelope and succeeds at surprising us with original concepts and merciless execution.
The merely clever material includes "National Geography's Third World Girls Gone Wild," basically an update on those topless-native-women gags of yore, and Chappelle's "Educated Guess Line," in which the sage comic eschews psychic powers to logically deduce racial insights from his callers' questions. Far more wicked is an in-your-face satire on such autobiographical film fare as Antwone Fisher and 8 Mile, in which Chappelle plays himself ascending from street hustler to rapper-comedian to bona fide savior of America. The best thing here, however, is a parallel-universe version of The Real World, in which the usual racial proportions on MTV's workhorse series are reversed, thrusting a token white guy into a Hoboken houseful of crazy African Americans. There are also laughs in "Ask a Gay Guy with Mario Cantoned," as well as a sketch about an "inner-thoughts cam" and a nasty piece about Chappelle's Make-a-Wish visit to a dying child, which decays into a cruel video game competition. Overlooking the series' weaker material, this is outstanding television comedy. --Tom Keogh

there is many kinds of humor
dry humor
moist humor
wet humor
I think Dave has wet humor
it doesn't hold back, it goes full speed to the joke and doesn't ask questions. unlike dry humor, which has satire and nobody quite understands without a little help.
Dave is hilarious. this was my first time actually watching his show, but it was so good that I bought season 2 and now I might get one of his specials or something.

This is the funniest comedy skits i have ever seen. It brings up racism and other stereotypes in the way they should be looked at, in a funny way. we all have them and laughing at them is good. Chappelle is in the top list of comdians to me and to most of the world. You will be laughing for days and days after reminding your friends of the shows. Guaranteed to make you laugh on my part.Platinum Comedy Series - Dave Chappelle - Killin' Them SoftlyDave Chappelle - For What It's Worth

I do not usually buy TV series DVDs, or comedies. But after seeing both seasons of the Chappelles Show I had to own them. Both series are well worth the money and will be watched repeatedly.

I am a huge Dave Chappelle fan. I got this video for a friend/co-worker who also enjoys him but didn't have the dvd. Since the show has been cancelled, all we have our memories and this is a dvd I own, as well as the second season, that stays in heavy rotation. You always see something new you may have missed and it is guarenteed laughs, if you are a Chappelle Show fan.
