George Harrison's Beatles songs, while infrequent entries on Beatles albums, are front-and-center on this album. This is essentially a best-of disc of all of Harrison's work, but taken to a new level. The album only gets better as more musicians are added into the mix and the music begins to pack an even bigger wallop.
Sometimes, albums that pay tribute to another artist's body of work are often lame, misinterpreted efforts. Not this one, however, as the high caliber of contributors (Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Ringo Starr, and Paul McCartney) pay tribute in just the right way but deviating just enough from the artist's original work by embellishing the beauty of the songs even more.
One of the highlights is Ringo's "Photograph", which was a hit for himself but was co-authored by Harrison. Unfortunately, his subsequent contribution, "Honey Don't", may be the biggest dud on the disc. Still, it's this variety -- Harrison's Beatles songs, his solo work, and even his work from the Traveling Willburys -- that make this disc worthy of any fan of Harrison's work, even if it's not George himself singing these songs.

"Concert For George" is the epitomy of how an artist tribute should be executed. This all-star bow to George Harrison captures his very essence. Apart from timeless music, one quickly notices the sterling arrangements, performances and quality of presentation. The DVD is a technical marvel and
could have easily been a 3 disc set had they decided to include "Crackerbox Palace", "This Song", "Blow Away", "Cheer Down", "When We Was Fab" and more of George's Beatle songs. I'd gladly pay another $20.00 for an expanded set!

This is how good live DVD-CD should sound, Wish George was around to hear it.

The best tribute i have ever seen. Eric and friends could not have done a better job. The love and respect poured off the screen. Every musician was there for George and his family. The last song by Joe Brown brought a tear to my eye and still does every time i watch it.

I bought this as a gift but wish I had kept it for myself. One of the best tribute albums to come along.
