Collectors item for sure or movie buff - this are great movies and they will not be able to make any like them again. If you love them, get it you can watch them over and over again.

I bought this collection for my parents for a pre-christmas gift. They already owned 3 out of 4 "Vacations" on VHS. After many years of watching Christmas Vacation during our tree decorating product they had decided to replace it with a DVD. After hearing the price that Walmart was going to charge for Christmas Vacation by itself, I went searching online to same them money and replace their old VHS tapes. The dvd version was so much clearer than their tapes, that they decided to replace Home Alone 1 and 2 as well.

I was so disappointed after thinking... four great movies at a wonderful price! Unfortunately, after opening the box set, I discovered that Christmas Vacation was in a smaller, plastic sleeve whereas the other 3 DVDs were in normal size cardboard covers inside the larger box. It was obviously at least a half inch smaller than the others in the box although it was shrinkwrapped to look the same, like it didn't even belong and was added at the last minute to replace the appropriate one. After ripping off all the security stickers and removing the plastic wrap from Vegas Vacation, we discovered that there was NO DVD inside... a completely empty sleeve. Moving along to European Vacation, we unwrapped and began to watch, only to discover that the voices in the film did not match up with the mouth movements of the actors. How pathetic is that? Sadly, the manufacturers of this box set cut an awful lot of corners to sell it to us at a nice price - I would have gladly paid an extra couple of dollars not to have to go to all the trouble of returning it to Amazon. Quality should NOT have to be compromised to offer a sale price.

I thought it was a great price for all 4 movies. And my boys loved getting it for Christmas. As always, service was excellent with Amazon.

This collection was shipped on time and was in almost perfect condition until I opened European Vacation to find that the center plastic piece that holds the disc in the case was missing half of the little pop-up pieces resulting in the disc moving around inside the box becoming scratched upon my opening.
