- Birthing TIKI
For my first TIKI cd, this collection of Exotica tunes was an excellant choice. Many of the recording artist in this area of music are unknown to me. But after listening to this collection I now know what artist I may want to collect additional cds of. What made me really start out with this cd was a previous review of this cd. That individual stated that there is one track that has a woman making 'unnatural screams'. Well, that was the selling point for me. Track # 8, LUST by Bas Sheva. Lets just say, it was the hit of the party when first heard.

- A MUST HAVE for fans of Exotica music.
Brilliant music. A lavish mix of several of the Exotica grand masters of the past. A nice blend of the "Jungle Exotica" and some "Tiki Exotica". Something you can listen to over and over. You dig retro tiki lounge music? GET THIS NOW.

I HAVE A LOT OF CD'S IN THE ULTRA LOUNGE SERIES. AS YOU WOULD EXPECT, ANY COMPILATION CONTAINING THE WORD "EXOTICA' IS BOUND TO HAVE SONGS BY MARTIN DENNY, LES BAXTER, YMA SUMAC, TAK SHINDO , AND BAS SHIVA. I HAVE MOST OF THIS STUFF ON THEIR ORIGINAL ALBUMS, SO THERE IS NOTHING REALLY UNEXPECTED HERE, BUT THIS IS A GOOD CD IF YOU JUST WANT TO GET A GOOD FEEL FOR "EXOTICA" LOUNGE MUSIC.

- Not My favorite among the Lounge Series CDs
This CD is good to play as background, shopping music. There are a lot of selections, but I only liked a handful. It's non-invasive and not much stands out on this one. I liked the Ultra Lounge Bachelor Pad CD better.

- Cool eccentric lounge
I just love this little album. It's packed heaps of mysterious eccentric tribal jazzy tracks that remind you of the shore lounges of yesteryear, but somehow manage to sound very cool today.
A great album, one of the best in the Ultra-Lounge Collection (with Ultra-Lounge, Vol. 4: Bachelor Pad Royale being its rival in my opinion), and one that I heartily recommend, despite its eccentricities.
Great album!
