The Chinese crime lord Fei Long comes to Japan hoping to lure freelance photographer Akihito into his web of intrigue and sex. But when his friends fall prey to Fei Long's diabolical schemes, Akihito has only one person he can ask for help, the person he despises more than anyone else on Earth: the Yakuza boss Asami, who once made Akihito his sex slave. Will Asami help Akihito? And if he does, what new humiliations are in store for our hero? Also includes an erotic bonus story.
Finder Series 1: Target in the Finder and Finder Series 2: Cage in the Finder can be found in our Recent & Recommended catalog section.
Ayano Yamane is renowned for her passionate stories and highly refined art style in both the United States and Japan. The Finder story began as a short work in a popular anthology magazine, and fan reaction was so great that Yamane soon began fleshing out the characters and settings into a fully realized universe. Yamane was recently the guest of honor at Yaoi-Con 2004, a fan festival celebrating the yaoi genre in anime and manga.

These books are some of the most beautifully drawn yaoi manga I've ever had the pleasure to read. But, what happened to them? As wonderful and beautiful as they are, they've:
1. Gone out of print.
2. It appears the series was cancelled.
So what happened?
Now the only way you can purchase them(and I do own two of the three) is to pay over a hundred dollars in some cases. I love the series, but I don't know if I love it that much.

I've read this volume before, and I've read what comes after (vol 4) and even though I have them, I just had to buy the english release. This is just one of those books you MUST have in every language is published^^ I simply love the characters. Especially Asami. I didn''t care much for Takaba in the beginning, but he has warmed my heart.
Now,I totally understand the first reviewer, when he said it left him a bit dissapointed. Yes, the interaction with Takaba's friends is minimal, yes, the way the whole thing developed, is very unlike any self-respected mafia boss would do, and yes the way the characters acted from then on is Out of Character- especially Fei Long- but you have to understand the man is OBSESSED with Asami, he wants him and he wants him bad...whether to kill him or rape him, we will have to wait and see what Yamane-sensei has in store for us. In the mean time, all I have to say is BUY IT, the next one is even better^^

Ayano Yamane draws very beautiful men. No doubt about that. If you're looking for beautiful men and explicit sex, this book should fufill your wants. However, if you're like me and are nitpicky about the story, then...well...
I actually cringed when I was reading this. We're introduced to Akihito's friends, a few lines are exchanged, and then all of a sudden they are kidnapped. Sure they are his friends, but as a reader, I couldn't feel any sympathy for him or them. It felt so gimmicky that I felt cheated out of a good read. Also, Fei Long seemed much more sophisticated in the first two volumes. Here, he reminded me of the stereotypical villian with his plan laid out in the beginning of the story.... maybe it was his clothes? He kind of reminded me of a rich party boy...Finally, the ending left me disappointed. Not because it was a cliffhanger, but because it's almost the standard romance/action cliffhanger. However, it does set up an interesting fourth volume...
As for the short stories at the end, I really liked "Love Surprise" . It was pretty cute. "Baked Sweet Glasses" reads like a standard oneshot. "Baby Leaf in Love" features the two dads from "Plants in Love" and "Beloved DNA" stories. It is a silly and cute story (but I'm biased since I really liked the two dads in the previous stories).
In the end, I didn't exactly buy the Finder Series books for their plot. The BDSM aspect and the art of the first book had first piqued my interest in this ... Read More

I finally got this book last week from Amazon! The artwork is really beatiful to look at and the storyline is well written. The characters are beatifully drawned so I couldn't keep my eyes off of them. The cliffhanger is really brutal so I can't wait for volume 4 to come out!!!

As always, the art of Ayano Yamane is exquisite. The characters are beautifully drawn, but undeniably MALE. The story continues from where it left off in Volume 2. Fei Long has come to Japan to cause trouble. He does so by kidnapping Takaba's friends--leaving him no choice but to go to Asami for help. There is a hot sex scene (no force) between Asami and Takaba, but another incident of rape does occur so be warned. This volume does show how Asami and Takaba's relationship is ready to move past the "forced seductions" of the first two novels. Takaba is just beginning to shed his naivete, and Asami appears to have been waiting for this. There is a lot of action compared to the first two novels, as backstory isn't needed any longer. The story ends with a cliffhanger, making the expected wait for Volume 4 (not even released in Japan) all the more agonizing.
Highly recommended!
