Product Description: Discover two hundred of the world's most spectacular birds in Bird Songs from Around the World, the follow-up to the national best-seller Bird Songs: 250 North American Birds in Song. Drawing from the collection of the world-renowned Macaulay Library at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, this stunning book features a sleek, built-in digital audio player that showcases each bird's song, as well as illustrated portraits and brief descriptions emphasizing the exceptional vocalizations. From the brilliantly plumed Lilac-breasted Roller in Africa to the flamboyant North American Roseate Spoonbill to Asia's Red Avadavat, Bird Songs from Around the World combines approachable information, beautiful art, and high-quality sound in a distinctive, elegant package.

The book is beautiful, well illustrated. Suggestion: the numbers to correspond to the pics/vica versa are too SMALL for an older person to see.
AND, do you have a separate edition of just birds of the Northeast and East Coast as well as shore birds? I'd like to exchange this edition of Around the World for birds native to the East Coast. This is a gift for my 89 year Mother who is legally blind but has always loved birds...she doesn't recognize the sounds from "around the world". The North America section is "too limited"...i.e. crows/bobwhites/hawks/seagulls, etc.
Thank you.

I bought this book especially as a way to interact with my pet parrot. She loves hearing bird calls coming from the various shows on TV and I thought this book would be perfect to entertain her with.
The song panel is easy to operate, has volume control, and even has an option of playing in "All" mode, so that you only have to press the button once (it's right before song #1, or at the end of song #200), and it will automatically play all the bird calls, one after another, for ten minutes or so on it's own.
My bird sits on the book and just listens to the different bird calls with amazement. I'm noticing the more I play it, the more she enjoys it. It's as good as I thought it'd be for entertaining her!
The only thing I could say that I wish were better about the book is that if it had more parrot species calls. It only has about two or three out of the two hundred.
It's also a great learning tool for us humans too, to hear these different bird calls and read about the birds who make them.
I can't wait to get another one of the books in this series to hear even more bird calls and enjoy them with my parrot!

This series of bird song books is awesome. It's easy to scroll through the songs, the sound quality is good, the information on each bird is interesting, and the range of birds is very cool. A treat.
