Editorial Review:

Product Description:
"Softly he brushed my cheek, then held my face between his marble hands. ''Be very still,'' he whispered, as if I wasn''t already frozen. Slowly, never moving his eyes from mine, he leaned toward me. Then abruptly, but very gently, he rested his cold cheek against the hollow at the base of my throat. " As Shakespeare knew, love burns high when thwarted by obstacles. In Twilight, an exquisite fantasy by Stephenie Meyer, readers discover a pair of lovers who are supremely star-crossed. Bella adores beautiful Edward, and he returns her love. But Edward is having a hard time controlling the blood lust she arouses in him, because--he''s a vampire. At any moment, the intensity of their passion could drive him to kill her, and he agonizes over the danger. But, Bella would rather be dead than part from Edward, so she risks her life to stay near him, and the novel burns with the erotic tension of their dangerous and necessarily chaste relationship.Meyer has achieved quite a feat by making this scenario completely human and believable. She begins with a familiar YA premise (the new kid in school), and lulls us into thinking this will be just another realistic young adult novel. Bella has come to the small town of Forks on the gloomy Olympic Peninsula to be with her father. At school, she wonders about a group of five remarkably beautiful teens, who sit together in the cafeteria but never eat. As she grows to know, and then love, Edward, she learns their secret. They are all rescued vampires, part of a family headed by saintly Carlisle, who has inspired them to renounce human prey. For Edward''s sake they welcome Bella, but when a roving group of tracker vampires fixates on her, the family is drawn into a desperate pursuit to protect the fragile human in their midst. The precision and delicacy of Meyer''s writing lifts this wonderful novel beyond the limitations of the horror genre to a place among the best of YA fiction. (Ages 12 and up)

Amazon.com Review:
The book that started the phenomenon is now available in a deluxe collector's edition! Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.

Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Students Perspective on Twilight

In Twilight, Stephanie Meyer engrosses readers with the atypical love story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. At the beginning of the novel, Bella reluctantly decides to live with her father in the small, rainy town of Forks while she completes her last two years of high school, so that her mother will be free to travel with her new basketball-playing husband. When Bella starts school she is surprised when after previously being a social outcast, she is the center of attention. Everyone seems drawn to her except Edward who tries to avoid her completely because, as she later finds out, he is afraid that he will be unable to resist the extremely appealing smell of her blood. Luckily, Edward tames his thirst, and a deep curiosity forms between the two. Bella knows that behind his gorgeous face and perfect figure there is something different about him but she cannot figure out exactly what. Edward is driven crazy when he cannot hear her thoughts (one of his supernatural abilities) and cannot understand how one ordinary girl can affect him in a way that he never has been before. As the story continues, their curiosity quickly grows into love that opens up a new world to Bella that she never knew existed and that threatens to pull the two apart.
Some of my favorite aspects of Twilight are the characters of Bella and the Cullen Clan, Edwards's vampire family. Bella is a shy, quiet girl who is very mature for her age and never really fit in at school but never really ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - horrid claptrap
nothing like a mormon to do what's been done before. is there anything new here? no no and no. and if a mormon can write about bloodsucking sex, then maybe the mormon church shouldn't be hating on the guy who created the mormon missionary calendar.

however, that said, mormons are a lot like mormons, sucking off society and taking credit for everything that's already been created, said and done. one review i read said that this book upheld "mormon values." ok, great. so comparing mormons to vampires is no problem given that both mormons and vampires suck everything around them dry...stephanie meyer has insisted that she hasn't seen a number of famous vampires on tv. IMHO...yeah right!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love it and can't put it down
I thought that I was done with vampires after Buffy but boy was I wrong! This series has quickly become one of my favorites and it seems like I never put one of the books down. I always have at least one book from the series on me! Great job and please write that 5th book. Just because people are jerks doesn't mean the rest of us have to be punished by with holding the greatness of this series!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Hook, line and sinker!
I'm sitting at my desk at work rocking back and forth in my chair, partly because of a caffeine buzz, but mostly because of the anticipation I feel about the Twilight movie coming out this Friday. I'm 32 years old and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm absolutely in love with the entire series. Twilight, in particular, grabbed me hook, line and sinker. I'm not a big reader - I haven't picked up a book in years. A co-worker of mine handed me Twilight one day and told me to give it a try. I have been bored with the same humdrum stuff on TV, so I thought a book may do my brain some good. The first 60 pages didn't demand my attention, but I pressed on determined to get into it so I could discuss it around the water cooler with my co-workers. To my surprise, one night I read over 100 pages. The next night, I read 200 pages. From then on, I haven't been able to stop. I read New Moon and Eclipse within a week.

I feel sorry for those of you who cannot relate to the book and criticize it as if it is supposed to be meant for more sophisticated literature snobs. Some of you even sound mad - why are you so angry? If you don't like the book, put it down, donate it to your local library or give it to someone who can appreciate the amount of imagination that needs to exist in order to even pull off a story like this today. Where is your sense of magic and wonder? Who cares if Bella isn't some Disney-like cartoon character - she isn't supposed to be. She is an ORDINARY girl, ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Huge disappointment
Many people have said it before me, but this book was really bad. I kept reading it, waiting for it to get better. Waiting for the googly-eyed teenagers to come back to the real world and for the story to start. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen until the very last few chapters. And even then, it's just not that good. Even the romance had no real chemistry. This book was recommended to be by one of my favorite Youtubers, but I have to disagree. I don't see how any independent, intelligent female could possibly like Bella Swan. I kept waiting for her to grow a spine and wake up. I really wanted to slap her! if this is the kind of book that modern teenagers are dying to read, I really fear for the future of this country. Maybe this book would make good kindling this winter...
