I am a HUGE Sherrilyn Kenyon fan. I bought this specifically for the story on Fury. I was left wanting more for someone who played such a role in the Were Hunter world. I was a little let down. It's definitely worth the read and the back story... I suppose I just wanted Fury to have a little more fun. Dark Hunter fans should add this to the "need to read list".J.R. Ward's was a great short story. 4 Stars for Ward on this one. I'm also an avid reader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood which is her stand out supernatural romance series. Anyone who enjoys Ward's short story in this anthology should pick up "Dark Lover" (Book 1) in the Brotherhood series and bet you'll keep buyin the rest after that.

this collection was good but kenyons story was far to short i felt. there really just wasn't much to it. i really don't like these books as a rule that have more than two stories in them because the authors really aren't able to do the characters justice. kenyon and ward i just really expected more to their stories than what i got. overall all the authors have written better books.

I am from UK and couldn't wait until this book is released over here so ordered it from America.
Was in no way dissappionted can't wait for next installment.
One thought though I was on pins waiting for Furys' story hoped it would have been a bit longer but still thrilling read!!!

I can't decide how I feel about this collection.
I bought the anthology for JR Ward's "The Story of Son." On the one hand, I enjoyed Ward's tale. Her vampires always work for me when she's focusing on romantic relationships. On the other hand, I'm beginning to notice annoying trends in Ward's style that I initially missed or could ignore. For example, how many more times is Ward going to use the phrase "rank male aggression" in her stories? If I've read it once in the BDB series, I've read it a hundred times. It pops up in this story too. And although the romance b/t Michael and Claire is compelling stuff, Ward seems to be contradicting the rules she established for her vamps early in the BDB series. I could be wrong but see the bit on Claire's aging at the end of the story.
Good story w/ an unusual twist: the woman is the aggressor, the vampire is the innocent. But with Ward's foray into Urban Fantasy, who knows what will become of Claire and Michael? No one's happily ever after is guaranteed in UF.
I think the Kenyon tale requires a familiarity with the characters I don't have. I don't read a lot of Kenyon. I sensed I was missing a lot and maybe would have enjoyed Fury and Angelina more if I knew their seemingly turbulent history. However, Angelina seems too cold-hearted for Fury, who is apparently one really long-suffering dude. Fury is intriguing but I did not like her a bit!

In spite of the fact that I didn't like Angelia, kenyons story was the best in the lot in my opinion. I was really looking forward to J.R. Wards story, but of course I was expecting a "Brother", not a victim from People Under the Stairs! Dead After Dark was an interesting read, but surely didn't live up to my expectations.
