Product Description: In this comprehensive and practical guide, the secrets of the ancient science of Tantra become available to a contemporary audience for the first time. Confined to small, hidden mystery schools for centuries, and often misunderstood and misinterpreted today, Tantra is not just a collection of techniques to enhance sexual experience. As Osho shows in these pages, it is a complete science of self-realization, based on the cumulative wisdom of centuries of exploration into the meaning of life and consciousness. Tantra-the very word means "technique"-is a set of powerful, transformative tools that can be used to bring new meaning andjoy to every aspect of our daily lives.

Not something I will likely read cover to cover, but interesting for flipping through. The biggest problem I have is not with the content but with the layout. Chapters run on and on and there is virtually NO whitespace whatsoever. This is tough for people like me that are easily overstimulated when facing a barrage of anything. In this case, text.
It's so tough to get through that, I'm not sure I'll be spending much time with the book. (Glad I bought it used) Still, maybe during vacations or when I'm feeling particularly relaxed, I might be more inclined to dig in and get to know Osho a little better...

I have bought 3 of his other books prior to purchasing this one that were outstanding, phenomenal. those three- (Love, Freedom and Aloneness, The AB C'S of Enlightenment and Courage) I recommend highly to friends, family and strangers the like i have even let people keep the other works i've told them to read because it affected them so much the paper was soggy with tears!.those texts i certainly reccomend, this however, i was very disappointed. there is no glossary which irks me and i think is very important to have in these newer printed works (the one advantage of newer books as far as i am concerned). The text also talked too much about sexual relationships, lovers, love and those other fallacies of the chemistry between one person and another that our society calls 'love'. I don't want to rain on Osho's parade as i respect who this man was a great deal and am still upset at his passing (in 1996)however; there's no exscuse for for keepingthe reader in a safe place of magical realism. I think this book would have been far better if Osho gave his wisdom on what he thinks of the injustices of humanity. I realize that this originally was written in 1974 however; that is no exscuse. Mnay things pre 1974 hapened which people had a hard time grappling with such as the greek atroricites of 1963-1974, the Armenian Massacres, apartied in South Africa, the Korean war, Vietnam, the Rwanda conflicts (in the late 1950s, early 1960s when primarily Tutsi were killed by Hutu) and there ... ...when I am disappointed or I need an advice I open any page and almost always find an answer.

This is a Rajneesh's meditation encyclopedia. You do not need any other book. Also this is more like a transcript of his speeches rather than some books out there that are just like compilations of bits of speeches of Rajneesh.
Great book, highly recommended.

The greatest lesson Osho has offered is the self empowerment to seek your own counsel. What is real is not what anyone has preached or told you so, rather the finding within your own innocence or if you would call that your own virgin ignorance, your unique truth. Better to admit your own original ignorance, sense it, feel it and meditate from there, within, within your heart as opposed to your mind. Osho best puts the mind as being the past, nothing more. Future is still the past because you only extrapolate from your past database. This is a truly wonderful book providing over a hundred ancient meditation techniques, all of them fascinating but actually only for the picking out which ones are best for you. Really puts you into the moment, the herenow! Transcending all duality!
Daily, it has become a favorite activity to bring this book along with my beloved to some sitting location on a nearby beach in mornings and read a couple of pages together. Truly soul stirring. Such a huge generous book with such wealth of refreshing new understandings. In this book, meditation gets demystified and given a successful learn it quick opportunity as opposed to taking forever to master. Osho's intention is clearly to make a master out of you as opposed to being any type of follower. I find this to be a very empowering but simple book of secrets to successful meditation. Also, what I find to be refreshing in this book is Osho's wonderful sense of humor.
