Editorial Review:
Product Description: A gripping story of danger and heroism by New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury. Sheriff’s deputy Alex Brady and his K-9 partner Bo, are on a mission to protect the people of Los Angeles. Domestic terrorists are trying to make this the worst fire season in California’s history. Can Alex stop this senseless destruction in time, or will he lose himself in the process?

I have read everything Karen Kingsbury has writtena and probably would continue doing so, at least for awhile. This book was a little shallow. So surupy I almost had to roll my eyes a few times. Then in the end it was not drawn out long enough and I thougtht ended not so great. But this is only my opinion.

A few weeks ago, Zondervan sent me an advance reader's copy of Karen Kingsbury's new novel, Every Now & Then. I'm a huge fan of Karen's writing and love to read, so I couldn't wait to dive into her latest book. I have to say, I was not disappointed.
The main character, Alex Brady, lost his father on September 11th, a day that many of us wish we could forget. The reality, however, is that what happened seven years ago still affects many people in our world today. They remain trapped in their pain and grief, leaving them unable to move past the devastating losses they experienced that tragic day.
In the book, Alex's mother commented that she didn't only lose a husband that day, she also lost a son. The victims of 9/11 go far beyond those who lost their lives and it's important for the rest of us to remain sensitive to those who are still struggling.
I hope this book will find its way into the hands of those needing a gentle nudge towards fully embracing their grief and finding the healing they desperately need and deserve.
It's important to note that none of Karen's books are offensive when it comes to faith. Her stories are filled with grace and are sure to be enjoyed by all readers. I would not hesitate to recommend this book to someone who is not a Christian knowing they will not only enjoy the story, but be touched by it as well.
While the story and characters are not real, there's a reason why Karen calls ... Read More

When I pre-ordered this book I could not wait for it to come in. Now that is has I re-read One Tuesday Morning and Beyond Tuesday Morning(1-2 in series) and now am almost done this one and I can see God working in the life of Alex Brady. Karen is the most wonderful Christian author I have found that makes the stories feel like it could be you. I get lost in her books. Keep up the great work Karen. I love your writting.

Karen Kingsbury reveals how ordinary people reject God and how they always have a second chance. An inspiring read.

I was a little hesitant to read this because the first two books in this series are among my favorite books. So I was happy to find that the story fit in with the first two but also held its own. Every Now and Then is about Alex Brady, a police officer in California that gave up dreams of being in the FDNY after his father died in the Twin Towers. He has locked the world out, trying to get bad guys off the streets before they can hurt people and leave other families with the pain he felt as a teenager. So his world consists of his K9 partner Bo and doing the best he can at his job. Sergeant Clay Michaels is Alex's supervisor and invites him over to dinner regularly, and Alex accepts every invitation so he won't lose touch with the emotion that drives him to succeed. Alex finds a lot more when Clay and Jamie decide to show him what life can be like when you know where your meaning comes from.
